Market Pulse
If you’re reading this, it’s too late… just kidding!
It’s not perfect timing, but it’s good enough. The NBA playoffs are heading into round 2, MLB is settling in, and the NFL just wrapped up the draft. We’re getting close to the point where real money can be made if you’re positioned right.
Right now, the biggest opportunity in the market is short-term NBA flips and early NFL positioning.
For NBA, I’m focused on players on teams with a real shot at making a Finals run. That’s where the fastest flips will come from over the next few weeks.
For NFL, this is the window to quietly buy before hype starts building again. There are already a few names I’m targeting that I think could move soon. I’ll break those down in the full version.
MLB is a little slower right now. If you’re wanting a riskier play, my recommendation is to get ahead of early All-Star buzz.
This Week’s Best Bet

This week’s play is Cam Ward Silver.
This isn’t a flashy play, but it’s the type that can build consistency if you play it right. I like Ward right now because his pricing feels more realistic compared to others in his class, which leaves room for upside as we get closer to the season.
Unfortunately, with last years rookies there is not enough graded copies on the market just yet. I’d stick to raw and make sure it’s still a clean copy. I would also stay away from grading this exact card with it only gemming 23% from 43 PSA submissions.
Ward himself would be a good grade and flip candidate, but I would find a card that is gemming a bit closer to at least 60%!

My Current Buy Targets
Here’s the type of profile I’m targeting right now:
Undervalued QBs compared to their class:
Right now, I would stay away from the Dart and Maye cards of the world. There could be money to be made there, but others have a much higher ceiling from a hype perspective.
Guys that come to mind are Tyler Shough, Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels, and, at the right price, Bryce Young. Each of these players are undervalued compared to others in their draft class, but each of them has a reason for hype to be at an all-time high heading into Week 1.
Players with narratives heading into the season:
Similar to the paragraph above, I would always have a reason why you believe a card can increase back to a sell target.
For example, Bo Nix was one crazy injury away from playing in the AFC Championship, and they made key additions to be even stronger this year. Shough had a surprisingly solid end to his rookie campaign, and the Saints went out and got him a second weapon to help ignite their offense.
Make sure you know the “why” before investing in a specific player.
Cards that actually sell frequently:
I’ve found that buying cards that sell frequently works best for my specific strategy. Plenty of hobbyists will buy low-numbered cards or SSPs, but for me, I need to know my price points before buying, and I can’t really see that history with short-printed cards.
However, there is money to be made for everyone. Stick to what you love and find the best way to make money with your business.
Sell Considerations

Deshaun Watson is one I’m personally looking to move off of right now.
Over the past 90 days, his Prizm and Optic cards are up significantly, and with rumors of him being the Browns QB1, a lot of that hype is already priced in.
This is exactly the type of situation where I’d rather take profit than hold and hope for more. When you see a run-up like that, the risk starts to outweigh the reward, especially with uncertainty still around him.
My eBay Playbook
Right now, I’m focused on two things:
Low-end consistency
90-day flips
It’s not the most exciting strategy, but it works.
Instead of chasing big hits, I’m building daily profit. That means targeting cards with clear buy and sell ranges then repeating that process daily.
My goal is for low-end inventory to sell 5–10 cards daily. With my current low-end sourcing, I’ve been able to pick up cards at great prices and flip them for solid profit. Those quick low-end flips allow me to build cash flow and eventually move into bigger and longer-term cards.
Rapid Insights
Build a foundation:
Build your foundation, whether it’s low-end or consistent flips. I tried only doing flips, and I found myself waiting too long to get back into new inventory while trying to sell off old inventory. You need a solid starting bankroll if you want to only do mid- to high-end flips.
Follow the trends:
Know the market, it’s a true game changer. Once you’re able to read trends and identify price targets, it becomes less about speculation and more about recognizing market cycles.
Stay consistent:
Build a strategy, create a routine, and grind it out. You’ll make tweaks here and there, and that’s perfectly fine. Do it your way though! If you’re like me, you do it because you love the hobby, but also because you want to turn it into a side hustle, job, or even a career.
You will not be successful without grinding, but you have to actually enjoy the grind. Remember the reason you love this hobby and the success will come.
